Brighton High School Student Saves Life Plus More Tips for the Week Ahead

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your week in Brighton.

1. Names in the news

Olivia Keller, a senior at Brighton High School, and a student of Howell High School’s emergency medical technician class, saved a man's life using skills she learned in school. (Read full story on WHMI.)

2. Save the date

  • Girl's Night Out- Paint and Pour Party at Studio West

Bring your favorite beverages and snacks to Studio West, and make sure to show up early to pour yourself a drink. Our gifted instructor will walk you, step-by-step, through replicating that day’s featured painting. Classes run for approximately 2-3 hours.

3. Did you know

  • Art Exhibit at CoBACH

Four local artists are now showing at Cobach with all the artists being members of the Brighton Arts Guild. The exhibit runs through June 23.

4. Just for fun

Swingfusion is a youth swing dancing event that will be held at the Gazebo at the Millpond in Downtown Brighton every Monday from May 6 through October 14, 2013 from 7:00-10:00 p.m. Admission is only $1, which will be used to benefit The Dance Project.

5. In case you missed it

The township Board of Trustees approved a $91,600 contract with Brighton Township-based Superior Play LLC to build and install the final round of playground equipment for the park. The equipment will include two zip lines, a seesaw and a fitness structure, according to the Press & Argus.
