'Giving Thanks' Special Thanksgiving Yoga Plus More Tips for the Week Ahead

Here are five things to help fuel your week in Brighton.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Brighton to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. Save the date

Put the 'bird in the oven' and join us this Special Thanksgiving Day, for hatha Yoga for EVERY B-O-D-Y!....Donate $15 or more for Gleaner's Food Pantry, in our own Livingston County (cash or check), and enjoy a healthy beginning to your holiday~ stretch, strengthen, relax, recharge, rejuvenate ~ and go on out and Celebrate this day w/your loved ones.

2. In the schools
According to Superintendent Greg Gray's Friday letter, one project the schools hope to complete on December 7 is a clean-up day of the area surrounding Leith Lake. The community is invited to be a part of this community building event. The goal would be to pick up trash, clean up the shore line, paint the dock and bridges, as well as groom the walking path so that this area can be utilized at an even greater extent.

The Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Brighton, will host a Divorce Care: Surviving the Holidays seminar on November 26 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. To register for this seminar, contact the church office at 810-227-9411

At Brighton High School on November 7, students from Diana Mason’s Ap Language classes wore hijabs during their school day.
