Christmas Eve Services Plus More Tips for the Week Ahead

Here are four tips to help fuel your week in Brighton.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Brighton to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. Holiday information

“THE GREATEST GIFT” series will tackle three big needs this time of year: HOPE, JOY & PEACE. If you need to be reminded or encouraged to pause and remember  – to find the hope, joy, and peace this season.

2. Save the date
First United Methodist Church Brighton and the American Red Cross, Great Lake Blood Region are hosting a Christmas Eve blood drive, Tuesday, Dec. 24 from 10 am - 3:45 pm in the lower level of the church, 400 E. Grand River Ave.

3. Christmas day meals
  • Annual Christmas Day Dinner
The 32nd Annual Christmas Day Dinner will be held on Dec. 25. Fellow Veteran organizations and volunteers prepare, serve and deliver to the "Meals on Wheels" seniors who are on the county nutrition program and to shut-ins across the Livingston County area. From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., a free traditional Christmas dinner is available in-house at the Post to anyone who wishes a hot meal or fellowship on Christmas day at the American Legion Devereaux Post 141. 4. For the kids
Come out for a day of outdoor adventure where we will hunt for animal tracks, eat lunch (provided) around a campfire and make bird feeders to take home. Participants will identify animal tracks on the ranch and make their own plaster tracks to take home. Participants will also learn about challenges faced by birds in the winter. This program if offered for kids in grades 3 – 6. Date: Thursday, December 26.
