New Additions to the Imagination Station Plus More Tips for the Week Ahead

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your week in Brighton.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Brighton to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1.  New additions to the Imagination Station

The new additions to the Imagination Station are scheduled to be installed on Thursday August 15 at 7 p.m. and will be officially unveiled on Saturday, August 17 at 9 a.m. Please join us Saturday at 9 a.m. to welcome our new elements that will line the entrance to the Imagination Station and will be easily accessible for all children. There will be chalk boards, a Zen Board for water paint play and some other hands on sensory elements to play with.


2. Partypalooza! at the Brighton Public Library

Celebrate the sweet success of your summer reading! Enjoy ice cream, face painting, and games. Magic Show  by Mr. Steve Zieman. All ages. Free ticket available 15 minutes prior to event. Space is limited. Generously sponsored by Brennan Investment services.

3. Jazz at The Pond - "Planet D Nonet" 

Join us for the third series of a new event in 2013 - jazz at the Mill Pond on the second Wednesday during the summer presented by 2 Stones Events. There is a free educational workshop prior to the show at CoBACH Center, 202 W. Main St - R. J. Spangler, drummer and historian, will present "The Impact of Louis Jordan"

4. 1st Annual Michigan Freedom Celebration

1st Annual Michigan Freedom Celebration, Tuesday, August 13, 2013 from 6:00 to 9 pm, Cromaine Lodge at Waldenwoods,  2975 Old U.S. 23. Tickets are $60 or sponsor a youth for $30. More info at www.RetakeOurGov.com or call 810.207.1867.
