Volunteers Needed for Mock Exercise Plus More Tips for the Week Ahead

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your week in Brighton.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Brighton to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. Coming this week

The emergency services test will take place on June 19 at the Brighton High School from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

2. In case you missed it
The Mary Magdalene Catholic Church and Brighton NC Machine Corporation’s Victory Garden are both looking for supplies and volunteers to help weed, plant and harvest crops.

3. Summertime fun
An informal and festive gathering of artists in the grass along Main St. Bring your own chair and supplies. Artists sketch, display work, or visit with passersby. No registration is required. Weather permitting. 

4. For the kids
Learn the basics of Harry Potter's favorite magical game from members of the University of Michigan Quidditch Team, then try playing it yourself. Please BYOB (i.e. Bring Your Own Broom)

5. On the agenda
On the agenda: To approve the MPG Dream Ride Civic Event as recommended by the Civic Event Committee.
