Hawkins Elementary School
Hawkins Elementary School, "Home of the Hurricanes," celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2010. It serves grades K-4, with a traditional half-day Kindergarten program. The school has an extensive playground and athletic fields, along with an indoor courtyard with a duck pond and gardens. Hawkins stresses academics, with a focus on improving reading, writing and real-world math skills at all levels. It also offers gym, music, art and library.
