Huron Meadows Metropark Golf Club

Huron Meadows Metropark Golf Club is located inside Huron Meadows Metropark and is open to golfers form April 3 throughMore November 28 of each year, weather permitting. The course is impressive - it's a Par 72, 6,688 yard, 18 hole course with water and sand hazards and fast, well-kept greens. The natural environs of the park create a serene, peaceful atmosphere, and you'll often see Great Blue Herons walking the grounds or wading in the park's many ponds. Tee times can be reserved by called the course, and golf lessons are available. Refreshments, including beer, are sold at the clubhouse and no outside beverages or coolers are allowed on the course. Daily permit costs to enter the park itself are $5 daily or $25 annually ($15 annually for seniors).

One of the few ski resorts in the Detroit Metro area, Mount Brighton is a year-round facility with a family-orientedMore atmosphere. In the summer months, the Jackal Golf Club offers 18 holes of play. As for skiing, the resort is suitable for everyone from beginners to the advanced with a 15 acre progressive terrain park. There are 26 different ski trails on 130 skiable acres here, along with 7 chair lifts and 11 surface lifts. The longest run is 1,500 feet. The resort offers ski lessons and clinics for both skiing and snowboarding, rents equipment such as skis, boots, snowboards, helmets, etc., and provides lockers visitors may rent to store their belongings while enjoying the site's activities. There are several places to eat on-site, such as the Pizza Parlor and Cafe and The Bauery Bar and Grill (a full service, sit-down restaurant which is also open in the summer months). The Chairlift Ski Shop, also on-site, offers winter apparel and equipment repairs and tuning, and the Hot Wax Cafe sells hats, gloves, goggles, sunglasses, headbands and other accessories, as well as providing ski and snowboard repairs, waxing and sharpening.

Brighton State Recreation Area is a 4,947 acre facility offering lots of great amenities and activities.More The park office has limited hours but the park itself seems to be open most of the time except for the equestrian center. The park offers hiking trails, camping, fishing, swimming, boat rentals and lots of great opportunities to explore and enjoy the outdoors.

Unique to this park is the equestrian center. You may ride and board your horse here year round (with a small gap during hunting season for riding). Tack items are also available for sale if you need anything. Reservations are required for the equestrian center with 24 hour advance notice required. Additionally, gift certificates for lesson packages, summer camp, trail rides and other gifts are available.
