Running Fit is uniting Michigan runners to show their support for Boston.
To celebrate the safe return of Boston Marathon runners and to show solidarity for Boston, Running Fit will be hosting a "Runners For Boston" run/walk this week. The unity 4.15 mile run/walk will be held on Wednesday, April 24 at 6:30 p.m.at Kensington Metropark, and participants should meet at the East Boat Launch. On the Running Fit website, Randy Step writes that running has taken on a new meaning for runners after the April 15 bombings. "Every step feels like a dedication to those who suffered. Just heading out the door is like thumbing our nose at terrorists that are out to change our way of life and limit our freedoms," he writes on the website. Finally, the NCAA Final Four is here. The March Madness 2013 Final Four television schedule begins Saturday with a television schedule that includes Louisville vs. Wichita State followed by Michigan vs. Syracuse. The Vegas lines on the Final Four give Louisville a 9.5-point edge and favor Michigan by 2. The studio will take all of its 31 acts to compete in Sandusky, Ohio in June.
The Dance competition season is underway and Theresa's Aademy of Dance already has reason to celebrate with 31 acts heading to the Showstoppers National Championships in Sandusky, Ohio this June. The students qualified for the competition in Battle Creek March 16 and March 17. Events include four dance divisions: solo, duets, trios and super groups, which are 20 or more dancers, according to Theresa Mitchell, Academy of Dance social media director. "We want to give many thanks to our competition choreographers, Theresa McKeon, Rachael Nardozzi, Jessica Van Voorst, Andria Carlson and Kori Snow," Mitchell said. Jordan Amine and Aaron Calderon are Brighton High School's 'most winningest' wrestlers.
Brighton High School Seniors Jordan Amine and Aaron Calderon will soon trade up their familiar black and orange wrestling singlets to maize and blue as the two head to the University of Michigan to compete in the fall. "It's always been a dream for me to go to the University of Michigan, but to be honest, I didn't know that they were interested in me as a wrestler, but when I found out, I was pretty excited," Aaron said. The two are Brighton High School's 'most winningest' wrestlers, according to Coach Sam Amine, Jordan's father. Amine said that both students have 3.5 grade point averages (GPAs) and were academic all-staters. Jordan hit his 200th career win during his senior season, while Aaron had 183 and won the state championship last…

Bulldogs named to the Division 1 all-state team.
In addition to helping their team defend its state title, five Bulldogs icers were named to the Division 1 all-state team by the Michigan High School Hockey Coaches Association. The coaches met on Saturday at Compuware Arena before the MHSAA state finals began. The Brighton all-staters are: Hartland and Pinckney also had two players each that made the Division 2 team.

The Brighton Bulldogs defeated Detroit Catholic Central 2-1 in Division 1 finals Saturday night.
Brighton High School defended its Championship Title by defeating Detroit Catholic Central 2-1 in the Division 1 hockey state championship game Saturday at Compuware. Michael Yuhasz scored a goal and assisted on another for Brighton. Lucas Morgan also had a goal and an assist, and Daniel Bosio had an assist for the Bulldogs.
