Olympic Track and Field Medalist Comes to Brighton

Judi Brown-Clark, former Olympic hurdler, will be at the Brighton Meijer on Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. helping to register participants and volunteers for the 2013 Meijer State Games of Michigan.

The Brighton Meijer's will play host to a special guest on May 24 as they welcome 1984 Olympic track and field silver medalist Judi Brown-Clark. The former Olympic hurdler will be on site from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. helping to promote and register participants and volunteers for the 2013 Meijer State Games of Michigan, an Olympic-style event that will be held June 21-23 in Grand Rapids. The Meijer State Games of Michigan is a Michigan Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness endorsed event, according to a press release that Michigan Lt. Brighton Bagger Dave's Celebrates Beer Week

Brighton customers visiting Bagger Dave’s during the week of May 13 -19 will receive the free gift after a $25 or more purchase after 8:30 p.m.

Bagger Dave’s in Brighton will be celebrating American Craft Beer Week next week with customers receiving a free pub glass. “Amazingly enough, the glass is reusable and will hold beverages other than American craft beer, too,” a Bagger Dave’s press release stated. “As if you’d ever want that to happen. Brighton's Farmer's Market Opens Saturday

Opening day for the Brighton Farmer's Market is May 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Spring is finally here and as the weather continues to warm up in Brighton, the local Farmer's Market will once again open for business. Opening day of the Brighton's Farmer's Market is Saturday, May 4 and the weather looks to be warm and sunny with a high of 71 degrees, according to the weather.com. Brighton Bakery Expands Into 'Uptown-Chic' Boutique and Cafe

The new, expanded Kathleen's Cookies location in downtown Brighton is currently open for business.

Kathleen’s Cookies officially opened its new location at 139 E. Grand River, redesigning the space to create an upscale, "uptown-chic" bakery, boutique and café. Brighton’s Ladies Night Out will take place on May 2 in downtown Brighton.

It’s time again for downtown Brighton’s Ladies Night Out, coming up May 2 from 6 to 10 p.m. Ladies of all ages are invited to downtown Brighton to shop for the latest spring fashions and to pick up a gift for mom, as Mother’s Day is just around the corner. Baby Business Hopes to Bloom in Brighton

John and Nellie Sowash recently opened Bloom Baby & Kids, a natural parenting shop and resource center in Brighton.

Combining two important resources for parents- supplies and education- the local owners of Bloom Baby & Kids hope to fill a niche in the Brighton business community by opening a combination natural parenting shop and resource center. “We know this community very well and we always wanted a store like this open,” owner John Sowash said.  Located at 222 W. Grand River, the Sowash family wanted to create not only a kid-friendly environment, but a parent-friendly one as well. 440 Main Open for Business

The new restaurant is currently open while waiting for final process for liquor license.

Relocating into the former Stone Fire Bistro location in downtown Brighton, 440 Main is currently open for business and serving lunch and dinner- although liquor is still not currently available. “They did approve our liquor license, we’re just waiting on some things and we have to have our final walk-through,” 440 Main manager Kim Feldmann said. Waiting for the final process on their liquor license, Feldmann explained that within the next few weeks the restaurant will have to close for a short period of time to allow for training and small re-design projects on the interior. The restaurant is also still waiting for new sigange for the exterior of the building to arrive and be installed.  Feldmann estimates the closing will last between …

A new family-owned and operated business catering to customers looking for a quick and healthy meal is now open in Brighton. Toma’s Salad Shop, located at 8539 Grand River, opened March 1 and is a dine-in or carryout restaurant with a menu that looks to satisfy even the “pickiest” eater.
