Detroit Red Wings School Assembly Program Visits Maltby Intermediate School
Brighton students and staff members received a special visit from four-time Stanly Cup Champion Kirk Maltby on Friday.
Brighton's Maltby Intermediate School was a sea of red and white on Friday to welcome a special visit from Detroit Red Wings Alum Kirk Maltby and the Red Wings School Assembly Program team. Maltby was one of 115 metro-detroit schools chosen as part of the Red Wings School Assembly Program, which promotes the sport of hockey through a youth street and floor hockey initiative and encourages students to be active. More than 950 students participated in the program, asking Maltby questions about his career and winning prizes for answering Red Wings trivia questions.
