Looking for something to do with the kids? Check out these events at the local metropark.
The following are the events listed for both Indian Spring Metropark in White Lake, and Kensington Metropark in Milford for the month of April. A Metroparks vehicle entry permit is required to enter any Metropark and is only $25 annually for regular admission, $15 annually for seniors or $5 daily. At the Nature Center: “Basics of Ice Fishing,” Saturday, February 2 from 1 pm to 4 pm, Nature Center. This program will give beginners a chance to learn about ice fishing, then wet a line! Fee: $5 for each person who is fishing. Bring ice fishing rods and dress for the weather (ice conditions permitting). A fishing license is required for those 17 years of age or older. Preregistration required. For ages 6 and older. “Chickadee Chowdown,” Sunday, February 3 at 2 pm, Nature Center. In winter, a variety of songbirds will actually take sunflower seeds from your hands. The Huron-Clinton Metroparks will waive vehicle entry fees and boat launch fees on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, and on Thanksgiving, Nov. 22. All parks are open on Veterans Day and Thanksgiving. Interpretive centers are open on Veterans Day. Entry fees are also waived on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, and tickets are currently on sale for the annual Santa Central at Hudson Mills Metrorpark.
