Miss Gobbles Needs a Safe, Forever Home

Miss Gobbles is available for adoption from the Humane Society of Livingston County.

Hello, my name is Miss Gobbles. I was born around 8/2011 and then adopted in 4/2012. I'm back at the shelter because my owner is pregnant. I'm not sure why I couldn't stay. I am a great girl who loves attention when I'm in a home. I'm just a little scared here so I hope I get adopted soon. I've lived in a home with small kids but much prefer older kids and adults. I've always been the only pet so I'm not sure how I would do with other animals.

Everyone Loves a 'Jersey' Girl

Jersey is available for adoption from the Humane Society of Livingston County.

Hello, my name is Jersey. I'm a sweet girl who has spent her whole life outdoors as a breeding dog. There were several others like me who were taken away from our previous owner for cruelty charges. He didn't take very good care of us and most of us are heart worm positive including me. I get along well with other dogs and don't seem to mind cats. I'm a little nervous around young kids but do fine with older kids. Because I've been mostly outdoors I'm probably not house trained but I am food motivated so training should be very easy. The HSLC shelter will treat my heart worm for no extra cost to my new family. I just need to have restricted activity until I finish with my treatment. I was born around 4/2006.

Black Jack is Full of PURR-sonality and Will Keep You Entertained

A black, male cat is available for adoption from the Humane Society of Livingston County.

They call me Black Jack and I am quite an interesting fellow. I am a very cool, sleek, male cat with Bombay characteristics born around May 2009. I have been living at the Humane Society most of my life so the staff knows me well. I am very friendly, super playful, and can be quite entertaining. I like to keep active so would do best in a home with another young active cat, kitten, or tolerant dog who would play with me. It would be really great if you could adopt me along with a new kitten or one of my cat pals from the cage-free room! I do not really like to be picked up or held so would not interact well with small kids. I hope someone will give me the lucky break I deserve soon for a forever home!

Happy-Go-Lucky Scrappy Would Make a Fun Forever Friend

Scrappy is available for adoption from the Humane Society of Livingston County.

Hello! My name is Scrappy! I'm a young adult, probably 1 1/2-2 years old, who was found as a stray. I was rescued from a busy roadway and brought to safety. No owner ever came forward to claim me so now I'm looking for a new forever home. I weigh about 40 pounds and am a happy-go-lucky type of guy. I'm a high energy dog right now but need to be kept as quiet as possible for a bit. I tested positive for heart worm and will need to be treated. The HSLC does this free of charge at the shelter for whomever adopts me. Until I finish my treatment I am supposed to have restricted activity such as being walked on a leash. I did well on my temperament test aside from the cat portion and other dogs. The staff said absolutely no cats for me and that …

Scrappy seems to have the odds stacked against him but I would like to throw my 2 cents in on his behalf. His pit bull blood line will be hinder his chances , but we have one at home that is the sweetest, most friendly pooch I've known. Scrappy just needs patient training, guidance and love.   more ›

A Cat Named Bear Needs a Forever Home

A short-haired black cat is available for adoption at the Humane Society of Livingston County.

Hello, my name is Bear. I'm a short-haired handsome black cat who was found as a stray. Since I was not claimed by my former owner, I'm now looking for my forever home. I am guesstimated to have been born around 3/2011. I'm sweet and friendly with everyone I've met so far. Because I was a stray, the staff is unsure if I've ever been around other animals or kids in the past.

Young Juliet Searching for Loving Family

A Treeing Walker Coonhound is available for adoption at the Humane Society of Livingston County.

Hi, my name is Juliet. I'm a 5-month-old Treeing Walker Coonhound who was given up due to my owner having too many animals. I have been mostly outdoors so we will need to be house trained in my new home. I have been around kids as young as 5 years of age and am very gentle. I will need to learn basic obedience and will need some leash training. I have not been around dogs other than my litter mates and mom nor have I been around cats. I'm a super-sweet dog that will be extremely grateful for a loving, indoor home.

Shy Mike in Need of a Loving Home

A Labrador Retriever Mix is available for adoption at the Humane Society of Livingston County.

Hello everyone! My name is Mike. I'm a handsome Black Lab mix with some white markings. I was born around 1/2012 so I'm still quite young! Unfortunately, I wasn't socialized very well so I'm timid and shy. I also do sometimes submissively urinate especially if I am being corrected. I need a gentle and patient owner who will work with me to build my confidence. This can be achieved by creating positive situations for me when going to new places and meeting new people. The staff thinks I would do fine around children but please keep in mind that I do scare easily so older kids may be best. I get along well with other animals and I love to play with tennis balls! When I was tested to see how I'd do with cats, all I wanted to do was to give …

Need a New Friend? Try Phoebe

A short-haired dilute calico is available for adoption at the Humane Society of Livingston County.

Hi, my name is Phoebe. I am a short-haired dilute calico who was born around 2008. I was given up by my owner because someone in the home had allergies to me. I am a very sweet cat but am shy at first. When I first get into a new situation, I will take time to warm up. Once I do, I act like a dog and love to interact with my human. I've been around all ages of kids and have also lived with another cat.

Sweet, Senior Aussie Looking for a Forever Home

An Australian Shepherd is available for adoption at the Humane Society of Livingston County.

Hello, my name is Mitzi. I'm a senior Aussie who was born on June 6, 2004. I originally lived with an older man who had no kids. Unfortunately, he became ill and could not come home. I then spent two  months in a boarding kennel while the workers tried to find me a home. They thought they did and I was in that home for almost 5 weeks before being dropped off here. While I was at the boarding kennel, they observed that I did well with other dogs. The person who took me for 5 weeks said that I am dominant. I have had no issues with other dogs here and the staff thinks I'd be fine with another dog in a home. I do great with cats but have never been around kids. I'm completely house trained and also know commands and tricks!

Friendly Tri-Pod Needs a New Home

A brown tiger cat is available for adoption from the Humane Society of Livingston County.

Hello, my name is Tri-Pod and, if you guessed I'm missing a leg, you're correct! I was born around 2007 and am a very large girl. I would certainly benefit from weight loss as I could groom myself better and not have to hold up so much weight on 3 legs. I was in my last home with another cat and got along just fine with her. We didn't like the new dog so we ended up living in the basement and were very unhappy. My owner decided to keep the other cat who was 17 years old and had little chance of being adopted. There were children in my last home and my owner reported that I did well with them. I'm a brown tiger cat with calico markings.
