Crime Report: Items Stolen From Unlocked Cars

The following information was supplied by the Livingston County Sheriff's Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Reports of several vehicle break-ins occurred in Hartland Township last week, according to the Livingston County Sheriff's department. Several resident reported items stolen from their unlocked cars.

Crime Report: Man Attempts to Throw Vacuum Over Garden Center Walls at Hartland Meijer

The following information was supplied by the Livingston County Sheriff's Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

On May 25, a Hartland man reported that between April 16 and May 15, the home, which he is moving into on the 4000 block of Latourette Lane, was broken into with items stolen, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s report. The Hartland man believes that one of the garage doors may have been left unlocked and also reports that water faucets had been turned on in the home, which resulted in approximately 20 gallons of water spilling onto the floor. Items reported stolen included a DR power trimmer valued at $600, a Mantise trimmer valued at $300 and a microwave valued at $475. A Brighton man reports that between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. on May 27, tools had been stolen from his unlocked work van parked in the driveway of the 12000 block of …

Multi-Vehicle Car Crash in Genoa Twp. Causes Fatality

Edward Sessions, 56, was fatally injured in an accident on Grand River this morning.

At approximately 8:33 a.m. Friday, a 56-year-old man from Webberville was fatally injured in a car crash that took place on Grand River in Genoa Township.  Michigan State Police at the Brighton Post said that Edward Sessions was killed while riding in the front seat of his brother's Pontiac Grand Prix, when it was struck by a black vehicle attempting to make a left lane change and failed to yield. Police said the preliminary investigation shows that Sessions' brother, William Sessions, attempted to avoid the black car and lost control of his vehicle, striking two cars: a 1999 green Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Kathy Durfee, 54, of Howell and a 2007 black Ford Mustang driven by 17-year-old Cori Carson from Howell.
