Email: wensdy@patch.com
Phone: (810) 288-8879
Hometown: Green Oak Township
Birthday: May 9, same day and year as my husband - we're astrological twins!
Bio: After holding various jobs from ski hostess in South Lake Tahoe to bike messenger in San Francisco, I finally found my calling at Wayne State University's J-school, where I discovered a love for exploring the world, interviewing people, and distilling my discoveries into (hopefully) useful reports. There is no better job for me on Earth. Except maybe librarian, geologist or prima ballerina, but I'll save those for another life.

Throughout my career I have dabbled in radio, TV and print journalism, which is fortunate since they've all converged online. My freelance articles have appeared everywhere from Marie Claire to Modern Bride, and my day jobs have included stints at the Northville Record, Milford Times, Daily Tribune and Observer & Eccentric Newspapers.

In each newsroom I have worn many hats from editor, reporter and special sections coordinator to delivering newspapers when the paperboy failed to show.

When I'm not writing, you might find me on stage with my all-mom band The Mydols. I play left-handed bass, just like Paul McCartney, only not as good.

I live on Silver Lake with my wonderful husband and beautiful young son and daughter, who attend Brighton Schools.

Politics: I often get frustrated with our two-party system, and tend to vote for independent candidates as a protest of the status quo. In the most recent election, I supported Rick Snyder, and have high hopes he will bring jobs to Michigan.

I feel America, and especially Michigan, need to return to our manufacturing roots, with a high-tech edge, in order to re-establish our economic and military power and create a foundation that will last into the future. As the daughter of a pipefitter, I firmly believe the working middle class is the backbone of our society.

I believe greed is the root of most problems in the world today.

Religion: To each his own.

Local Hot-Button Issues: I am proud to say that through sound fiscal management and established family values, Brighton seems to be weathering the current economic storm. My hope is that everyone leaves that poor naked statue alone and takes time to enjoy the finer things downtown Brighton has to offer, like the Chicken Piccata at Ciao Amici's, Cake Batter Ice Cream at Yum Yum Tree, and beauty of a stroll through Mill Pond Park any time of year.
