Smokin' Jazz Festival Heads to Brighton

Brighton's Smokin' Jazz Festival is coming to town next month and applications for vendors are still available for the event.

A signature event for Brighton, the Smokin' Jazz Festival features talented musicians and food vendors smokin’ up the streets of Downtown Brighton. Here are five things to know about the upcoming festival.

1. The 8th Annual Brighton’s Smokin’ Jazz & Barbecue Blues Festival will take place on September 6 and 7.

2. Current BBQ vendors include: Great Lakes Custom Meats & More, Hog Wild Bar B QKen's Catering, Rub BBQ Catering, Hickory BBQ & Grill, Burrough's Tavern, Smokin BarBQ, Tom's Hawaiian Foods, Eighteenth and Vine BBQ Co and Coates Grills.

3. Current non-BBQ vendors include Cool Carts To Go, Ritters Frozen Custard, Jack's Custard, Oh My Lolli! and Cinnamon Nuts.

4. Musical line up includes: 

Friday   

  • Sean Dobbins Organ Quartet from 6 p.m.-7 p.m.
  • Ben Sharkey from 7:30 p.m. -8:30 p.m.
  • Laura Rains & the Caesars from 9 p.m. -10:15 p.m.
  • Rusty Wright Band from 10:45 p.m. -Midnight 

Saturday

  • Paul Keller's At Sundown from  6 p.m. -7 p.m.
  • Nighthawks Jazz Orchestra from 7:30 p.m. -8:30 p.m.

  • Bettye LaVette from 10:45 p.m. to Midnight
