New Brighton Restaurant Predicts Large Crowds For Opening Weekend

Alexander's Land and Sea Grille opened on July 8 in Brighton.

After a smooth opening day on Monday, Alexander's Land and Sea Grille manager Mike Gibbons expects a large crowd for the first weekend open for the much anticipated steak and seafood restaurant.

The restaurant is located 10180 Grand River in Brighton in the former Brighton House location.

"We're not taking any reservations for about a month," he said. "We're just going to breathe the air in Brighton and let folks come in and try us."

Although Alexander's chef is classically trained with an extensive background, Gibbons said the menu will reflect a "comfortable fine dining experience" for their patrons.

"He does that beautifully," he said. "It's a wonderful combination of elegance and approachable."

Predicting the quality of their seafood will be a "big draw" for many customers, Gibbons assures his customers of the freshness of their items due to the fact that "36 hours ago it was swimming."

Folks get very excited about seafood and we're happy about that," he said. "But our steaks are not to be ignored."

Hours for Alexander's Land and Sea will be Sun.-Thurs., 11 a.m.- 11 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays 11 a.m.- 12 a.m.

"The theory is no one is open that late, so how do we know if anyone wants to eat that late," Gibbons said.

While their hours may change in the future, Gibbons said their goal now is to be "as open as they can be."
