Rec 101: Intro to Astronomy

Join us for an evening of star-gazing, planet identification, and constellation-finding at this special event sponsored by the University Lowbrow Astronomers Club. They'll be setting up their telescopes and instructing on how to locate the various celestial objects in the night sky. They have variety of telescopes, and it is fascinating to learn the difference among them. It is supposed to be an especially good evening for seeing both Venus and Saturn. Make sure to bring any questions you may have about being an astronomy buff.

Meet at Chilson Pond behind the park headquarters. Children must be accompanied by adults the entire time as there will be very expensive equipment being used. For more information go to their website: www.umich.edu/~lowbrows/theclub/.  This program is FREE but a Recreation Passport is required for park entry.
