Brighton Business Supports Cinderella's Closet

Hush Intimate Apparel will donate merchandise to LACASA's dress boutique in time for Prom season.

Information provided in press release.

Lisa Nelson, owner of Hush Intimate Apparel is making a donation of roughly $8000 in merchandise from her Downtown Brighton boutique to LACASA and their Cinderella’s Closet division on Tuesday, April 9th at 3 p.m.

After being in business for just over five years, she felt it was time to give back to the community that has supported Hush. When Nelson worked for General Motors she volunteered for a domestic violence shelter in Oakland County.

“I witnessed first-hand the horrific impact of domestic violence. So when I was considering this donation, LACASA was the top choice.”

"I opened Hush because I knew I could provide a valuable service to my community," Nelson said. “Well-fitting undergarments are important to women in all stages and phases of life. We provide a comfortable, discreet setting where women can get the fitting help they need.

"It is an honor to be able to share what we’re good at with women who may have had to leave everything they have behind.”

We at Hush are also excited that the young women who utilize Cinderella’s Closet to find something special to wear to Prom will also have the ability to find what they need to wear underneath.

Dresses are $25 at Cinderella’s Closet and all proceeds go to provide help and hope for victims and survivors of interpersonal violence at LACASA.

Girls who purchase a dress at the budget-friendly boutique are helping in two ways. They are supporting a local charity and aiding the environment by “recycling” gently-used gowns and party attire.

Spring 2013 Boutique Hours are Thursday and Friday 3-8pm, Saturday 12-5pm the last 3 weekends in April.  For more information visit:  http://www.lacasacenter.org/cinderellas-closet/
