The following construction activities are scheduled for the weekend beginning Friday, Sept. 13, and ending Monday, Sept 16. Some of this work may be postponed due to inclement weather or any unforeseen circumstances.
M-59 Livingston County:
This weekend, crews will be paving M-59 east of old US-23. One lane will be maintained with flag control between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. each day.Popular Stories

The following is the schedule for this weekend:
- On Saturday, September 14, crews will be working between Argentine Road and Hacker Road.
- On Sunday, September 15, crews will be working between Latson Road and Argentine Road.
The entire project is expected to wrap up in early October.
I-96 Livingston County:
On Sunday, September 15, there will be a single lane closure on westbound I-96 approximately two miles west of M-59. The closure is needed to install pavement sensors and will be in place between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Old M-14 (Ann Arbor Road):In Wayne County, eastbound and westbound Ann Arbor Road will have a single lane closed between I-275 and Newburgh Road from 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday for pavement repair.
In Oakland County, the right lane of southbound I-275 will be closed from 9 Mile to 8 Mile roads from 6 a.m. – 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday for maintenance.
In Oakland County, westbound I-96 will have two lanes closed from Novi to Kent Lake roads NIGHTLY starting at 8 p.m. Thursday and ending by 5 a.m. Friday, and again from 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday until 6 a.m. the following morning for resurfacing work.
In Oakland County, southbound I-75 will have two lanes closed OVERNIGHT from Giddings Road to Squirrel Road from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. starting Friday night and ending Monday morning for maintenance work.
In Oakland County, the southbound Joslyn Road entrance ramp to northbound I-75 will be closed from 4 a.m. until noon on Saturday for repairs.
In Oakland County, the right lane of southbound I-75 will be closed from Crooks Road to Long Lake Road from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday for maintenance.
In Macomb County, the eastbound I-696 ramp to eastbound I-94 will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday for ongoing resurfacing of eastbound I-94. A detour will be posted directing traffic to northbound M-3 (Gratiot Avenue)
In Oakland County, the right lane of eastbound I-696 will be closed at Telegraph Road from 6 a.m. – 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday for maintenance work.
In Macomb County, eastbound I-94 will have two lanes closed, while westbound I-94 will have a single lane closed between Masonic Blvd and I-696 from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday for ongoing resurfacing work. In addition, the eastbound I-94 exit to 12 Mile Road will be closed during the same time frame.
In Detroit, the left lane of westbound I-94 will be closed from I-75 to Woodward from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday for road repair.
In Wayne County, eastbound I-94 will be reduced to a single lane from 7 a.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday, while westbound I-94 will have a single lane open from 1 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday at Telegraph Road for pavement repair.
M-97 (Groesbeck Highway):
In Macomb County, southbound M-97 will be reduced to a single lane from 14 Mile to 11 Mile roads from 6 a.m. Saturday until 8 p.m. Sunday for ongoing resurfacing work.
M-59 (Hall Road):
In Macomb County, eastbound M-59 will have two lanes closed from Garfield to Romeo Plank roads from 9 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Tuesday for pavement repair.
M-53 (Van Dyke Freeway):
In Macomb County, a single lane will be closed on northbound M-53 at 22 Mile Road from 8 p.m. Saturday untilNoon Saturday, Sept. 21 for bridge repair.
M-1 (Woodward Avenue):
In Oakland County, the left two lanes of southbound M-1 will be closed from Catalpa to Oakridge roads from 9 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday for ongoing resurfacing work.
Beginning the week of Monday, September 16:
In Macomb and Oakland counties, eastbound I-696 will be reduced to a single lane OVERNIGHTS from I-75 to Mound Road starting at 8 p.m. and ending by 5 a.m. the following mornings beginning Monday and ending Friday. The lane closures are needed for pavement repair.
