This week's savings tip

The Elder-Beerman store in Howell is once again sponsoring its Goodwill Sale. Bring in your gently used clothing and receive a 20 percent coupon for each item donated. This is a way to help out the community and save money at the same time. Sale starts Wednesday, during which customers will receive double coupons.

Deal: Lifetime Family Chiropractic is hosting a family wellness day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with complete chiropractic exams, consultations and X-rays for $17 per individual and $47 for families. 

Good on: Saturday.


Deal: Thursday-night specials include a $20 cut and style with complementary chair massage.

Good on: Every Thursday.


Deal: On Wednesday only, Kohl's is having an All-Day Doorbuster sale with select clothing and jewelry 50 percent to 60 percent off. The sale also includes an Everyday Kitchen 15-piece stainless steel cookware set for $49.99, originally $99.99, and metal wall art for $17.99, regularly $39.99.

Good on: Wednesday.


Deal: Stock up on your winter makeup with Walgreens' buy-one, get-one-50-percent-off sale on brands that include Maybelline, Cover Girl and Revlon.

Good through: Saturday.


Deal: Jazzercise is offering back-to-school savings of $25 off the registration fee with joining fee and auto-payment registration.

Good through: Sept. 30.

Many of us stretch a dollar by clipping coupons or printing coupons from printable coupon websites like Printapons, and when stores double or triple the face value of those coupons, the savings can really add up.
