Halo Burger Coming to Brighton

Dortch Enterprises plans to expand with seven new locations in 2013.

Local Halo Burger fans might be happy to know that the owner of the burger chain plans to open a location in Brighton before the end of the year.

Brighton is just one of seven planned locations for 2013, including Troy, Bingham Farms, Novi, Clarkston, Farmington Hills and East Lansing, MLive reported.

The closest Halo Burger location is currently in Fenton, and aside from one Birch Run location, all the restaurants are located in Genesee County.

“I don’t know how many more stores you could get in Genesee County,”  Polly Dortch-Conlan, director of marketing for Dortch Enterprises, told MLive. “We have quite a few Subway locations in Oakland County and there were some locations there that we felt would be a great fit for the Halo Burger brand.”

The company plans to open the Halo Burger locations adjacent with Subway stores.

City of Brighton Planning Director Amy Cyphert said she did not know of any plans for the chain to move into Brighton and that the city has not received any permit applications at this time.
