Brighton Boy Solicits Christmas Cards to Send to Macomb Boy Battling Cancer

Joey Caretti, 11, of Macomb is fighting his third battle against leukemia and all he wants for Christmas is cards.

Brighton Patch is searching for information regarding the identity of a 13-year-old Brighton boy who has been soliciting signatures on Christmas cards from firefighters and police officers to send to 11-year-old Joey Caretti as he fights his third battle against leukemia.

According to the Police Officers Association of Michigan (POAM), the Brighton boy used money from his grandmother to purchase cards and postage and has been taking them to police and fire stations, asking them to sign and mail cards to Joey.

A blog post by the POAM said that the boy can relate to Joey, because he is also fighting a terminal disease. The POAM said they do not know the identity of the Brighton boy.
