Good Morning Brighton

Here are five tidbits of news and information we hope you'll find useful or entertaining.

Twice a week, Brighton Patch will post a snapshot of something from around Brighton. Readers are asked to guess the location of where the picture was taken. It will be like a virtual tour guide of Brighton.

1. The weather

Today will be rainy, with an 80 percent chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm, and a high near 71 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers, and a low around 58 degrees.

2. Gasoline prices

Here's a quick survey of the lowest per-gallon prices for regular gasoline in the Brighton area as of Monday night, according to DetroitGasPrices.com via GasBuddy.com:

• Costco, 6700 Whitmore Lake Rd: $3.47

• 7-Eleven, 11501 Grand River Rd: $3.51

• Mobil, 9925 Spencer Rd: $3.51

3. Fashion Show

Sanctuary At Woodland, located inside St. Joseph Mercy Brighton, will partner with the Putnam Senior Center, to host a fashion show and brunch today at 9:30 a.m. Advantage Apparel will showcase their fun fall fashions and there will be jewelry and clothes available for purchase.

4. Open Auditions

Dionysus Theatre will host open audtions for its production of Home for the Holidays today from 7-10 p.m. at Michelle's Academy of Dance and Performing Art Center. Callbacks will take place at MADPAC on Thursday, Oct. 25. Please prepare 16 bars of a holiday song. Bring sheet music in the correct key, a headshot and resume stapled together, and a list of any and all conflicts from Nov. 10 through Dec. 23. Sign in will begin at 6:30pm. Any person wishing to audition must be signed in by 9pm.

5. Trivia

Thursday's picture was taken at the Scranton Middle School Media Center.
