And remember, always included in this Monday-Friday feature is a video from someone wishing everyone "good morning" as part of a message to our community. Today's message comes from City of Brighton Downtown Development Director Matt Modrack and staff members Lauri French and Terri Gole.

1. The weather

There will be snow today with the possibility of some thunder and a high near 36 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. There's a 40 percent chance of snow tonight, with a low around 23 degrees. New snow accumulation is 2 to 4 inches.

2. Gasoline prices

Here's a quick survey of the lowest per-gallon prices for regular gasoline in the Brighton area as of Thursday night, according to DetroitGasPrices.com via GasBuddy.com:

  • , 11501 9925 Spencer Rd: $3.64
  • , 11501 Grand River Rd: $3.65

3. Brighton Area Networking Group (BANG)

The Brighton Area Networking Group (BANG) is a group of Brighton, Michigan area job seekers and business leaders who meet weekly on Fridays at at 8 a.m. The group discusses job opportunities, business, investments, trends and current events. The goal of the group is to enhance the financial well being of the membership.

4. Wooden Spoon Raw Bar

will feature its Raw Bar tonight beginning at 5 p.m. The Raw Bar will have six different hand-shucked oysters, ahi tuna, shrimp cocktail, octopus, pastrami smoked salmon, and various crab claws. Prices range from $1.75 to $2 each for oysters; all other specialties range from $2 to $8 per item.
