1. The weather

Today will be partly sunny, with a 30 percent chance of showers and a high near 62 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The chance of showers will continue into the night with mostly cloudy skies and a low of 46 degrees.

2. Fuel prices

Here's a quick survey of the lowest per-gallon prices for regular gasoline in the Brighton area as of Thursday afternoon, according to DetroitGasPrices.com via GasBuddy.com:

3. Mother Goose Cafe

The Brighton District Library will hold its Mother Goose Cafe today from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Share stories, songs, rhymes, and fingerplays. Play time concludes the free program. Space is limited to 75 participants.

4. Sparty Gala

The Livingston County Spartans will hold its second Sparty Gala at , 4500 Club Dr, tonight at 7 p.m. There will be a full buffet dinner with wine and beer, a silent auction and live entertainment. Dress is "dressy business casual or MSU attire."

Suzy Merchant, MSU women's basketball coach and the Big Ten Coach of the Year, as well as, Scott Westerman, MSU Alumni Association executive director, will be joining in the fun.

5. Trivia
