Meningitis Outbreak Claims Two More Livingston County Residents; Northville Man Stabbed With Kitchen Knife

1. A Sterling Heights woman was arrested for aggravated assault after stabbing a 51-year-old Northville man with a kitchen knife when he asked her to leave his apartment, Northville Patch reported.

2. In a nationwide fungal meningitis outbreak from tainted steroid injections, two additional Livingston County residents have died, the Livingston Daily Press & Argus reports. Almost 500 nationwide, including 164 in Michigan, have fallen ill over the past several weeks.

3. Medical Weight Loss Clinic in Farmington Hills banned a Southfield woman after she assaulted an employee, Farmington-Farmington Hills Patch reported. The woman was complaining about her goal weight and the cost of the program when she pushed the employee up against a wall and placed her arms around the employee's neck.

4. Thursday’s warm weather drew one of the largest crowds in years to the America’s Thanksgiving parade in Detroit, the Detroit Free Press said. But the warmest Nov. 22 on record was in 1913, with temperatures of 69 degrees.

5. Gov. Rick Snyder will discuss plans for a second Detroit-Windsor bridge during a trip to Canada, said an Associated Press story printed in The Flint Journal. In the general election earlier this month, voters spurned a proposal to give them a say on whether state money can be used to build international border crossings.
