Recipes for College Bowl Game Day

Here are some foods to keep you spirited (and warm) through the new year.

It's New Year's Day and that means a full day of College Football bowl games.

It's okay if you don't feel like heading out to Champ's Pub or The Pound! Bar & Grill for beer and appetizer specials, here are some great menu ideas to enjoy from the comfort of your own living room:

These meatball sliders will go quickly and are easy to make. You may use frozen meatballs from the market or your own homemade meatballs. Combine them with your choice of cheese and hot dog buns cut into thirds, and you're good to go.

A dip to pass: Patch Editor Brooke Tajer regularly shares favorite recipes with readers; this Beer Dip is one you can't resist and would make a great dish to pass. It's cream cheese, a ranch dressing envelope, beer and cheese. Serve it with chips (but keep the kids away).

Tajer also offers up an easy-to-make recipe for Original Skyline Chili Dip.

And of course you can't go wrong with classic finger foods like Pigs in a Blanket.

What are you munching on during the games today? Tell us in the comments.
