US-23 Lane Closures Scheduled for Saturday

There will be roadwork with single lane closures on US-23 for the next two weekends.

There will be a single lane closure on US-23 in each direction between Silver Lake Road and the CSX Railroad - south of the I-96 Interchange, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT).

The closure will be in place between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. and is needed so crews can implement the split merge traffic configuration near Silver Lake Road.

Once the split merge configuration is in place, there will be three lanes maintained on northbound US-23 - two northbound lanes and one southbound lane - and one southbound lane maintained on southbound US-23.

Also, once the split merge traffic configuration is in place, the on-ramp from Silver Lake Road to northbound US-23 will reopen.

Single lane closures will again take place on northbound US-23 the following weekend.

There will be a single lane closure between Lee Road and the CSX Railroad starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, May 18, and continuing until 7 a.m. on Monday, May 21 for pavement reconstruction on northbound US-23 under Lee Road and the CSX Railroad bridge.
