Photos and Video: Brides-to-Be Sample Local Vendors at 'Here Come the Brides' Bridal Show

The bridal show was held at Brighton High School on Sunday.

About 200 brides attended the "Here Comes the Brides" Bridal Show Sunday, according to owners Cathy Dedakis and Maggie Pietila.

"We really had probably more than 400 people here because brides usually bring one or two people with them," Pietila said.

The attendees were able to browse from 62 local vendors -- many of them from downtown Brighton.

21-year-old Brighton resident and grad Courtney Collins is marrying her high school sweetheart on May 18.

"We got engaged last July," Collins said. "I'm here looking for a DJ, florist and a cake."

When Brighton Patch spotted her group, however, they were talking to Marina Greenlee, owner of .

"I never thought of this before," she said about airbrushing. "It's a cool idea for makeup for the wedding day."

Before the runway fashion show, some brides-to-be competed onstage for gifts from the vendors. Competitions included a dance-off, kissing -- with a little help from some grooms -- and "name that song."

and the provided the tuxedos, bridal and bridesmaids gowns for the show with help of , who did participants' hair and makeup and , which provided a variety of bouquets.

"Many of the brides coming to this show right now are planning at least a year in advance," Tracey Flannigan, owner of Art in Bloom said. "Many of them are coming for fall weddings, so I just tried to bring an assortment of colors. I also spoke with the bridal salon to coordinate with their dresses."
