A Cappella Night in Brighton

A CAPPELLA NIGHT IN BRIGHTON

On
Friday April 4, the Brighton High School Choirs will host the second annual  "College A Cappella Night". 
Tickets are $10 and all proceeds will benefit the Brighton Choir Program. 
The evening begins at 7:00 in the Brighton Center for the Performing
Arts.  The show will feature "The Accafellas" from Michigan State
University and "Ladies First" from the Michigan State University. 
In addition, "Chicappella", the women's a Cappella group from
BHS, "Note-orious", the men's a Cappella group from BHS and select
Brighton High School choirs will perform.  This will be a must-see concert
that benefits a fantastic organization!

The
Choir Program at BHS has traditionally been one of the strongest high school
choral programs in the state of Michigan.  The "College A Cappella
Night" is a gala event that will raise money for the Brighton High School
and Scranton Middle School choir programs while featuring some of the best
young voices from local schools and colleges.  Phil Johnson, the director
of choirs at Brighton High School, was actively seeking a unique fund raising
idea while offering the students in the BHS and SMS choirs an opportunity to
perform and to learn from other very accomplished musicians.  The proceeds
from the evening will go to support the Brighton Choir Programs and will be
used to purchase music and uniforms, upgrade equipment and defray the costs of
choir performances and activities throughout the year.  Mr. Johnson was a
founding member of "The Accafellas" while he was a student at
Michigan State University. 

The
College A Cappella Night in Brighton will be held Friday April 4, 2013 at 7:00
PM in the Brighton Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Brighton
High School.  Tickets are $10 and all proceeds will benefit the Brighton
Choir Program.
