Paint Out Captures Brighton

Works from the first Brighton Paint Out on Saturday are now on exhibit at Art Ventures until the Brighton Fine Art & Acoustic Music Festival, August 2-4, where the public can vote for their favorites and one artist will win a cash prize.  Nearly 40 artists in all media from many cities participated, picking scenes in the downtown Brighton area to capture with pastels, oils, and acrylics in this plein air event sponsored by the Brighton Art Guild, Greater Brighton Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Brighton's Arts and Culture Advisory Commission.  A special shoutout goes to Sarah Grusin, president of the Guild, who carried off the day-long activity with a freshly broken arm!  Go to http://www.artventuresmarketplace.com/.  Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/En_plein_air to learn about this special category of art.
