Armed Robber Hits Brighton 7-Eleven

The robbery is under investigation and witnesses are urged to contact the Green Oak Charter Township Police.

The Green Oak Charter Township Police Department is investigating the armed robbery Friday night of a 7-Eleven in Brighton.

A man brandishing a black handgun entered the convenience store located at 11501 Grand River Ave. shortly before 9 p.m. and demanded money from a female clerk, according to a Green Oak Charter Township Police Department press release.

The man obtained an unknown amount of cash and fled west on foot toward Pleasant Valley Road; a dog from the Michigan State Police Brighton Post tracked the suspect to an area behind the store and south of Interstate 96, the press release says. The suspect is believed to have entered a vehicle and escaped the area, according to the press release.

The suspect is described as 20 to 30 years of age, approximately 180 pounds and 5 feet, 10 inches tall, wearing a knit winter cap with ear flaps, a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans.

The robbery is under investigation and witnesses are urged to contact the Green Oak Charter Township Police Department at 810-231-9626.
