Police Seek Help Identifying Trio in Brighton Township Armed Bank Robbery

First National Bank was robbed at gunpoint mid-Friday morning.

Police are seeking the public's help in identifying two men and a woman suspected of robbing First National Bank in Brighton Township Friday morning.

The men were seen fleeing the bank on Grand River Avenue in a dark red or maroon 1989 Buick LaSabre that was stolen Thursday from a City of Brighton home, police said.

The two men entered the bank around 9:38 a.m. while the woman waited in the car, Livingston County Sheriff Bob Bezotte said.

Bezotte also said that both men are believed to have been carrying semi-automatic handguns at the time of the robbery.

The robbery was first reported by a citizen after noticing a suspicious car parked in front of the bank. Sheriff's deputies were on scene within three minutes, about the same time the bank alarm sounded.

The suspects are described to be black men in their early 20s to early 30s, around 5'6" and 5'8", wearing baggy clothes and sideways baseball hats. The driver is described as being a black woman.

Police are asking that anyone who saw the trio dump the car at the apartment complex around 10 a.m. to contact Det. Matt Schutes at 517-540-7941 or to leave an anonymous tip on the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.

Additional details are not immediately available.
