U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers will retain his position as chairman this coming term.

U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Brighton, was reappointed to serve as the chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence for the coming term, according to the Livingston Daily Press & Argus.

Rogers was first elected to represent the 8th Congressional District in Congress in 2001. He was appointed chairman of the Intelligence Committee in 2010.

Rogers has been a loud advocate on protecting American industries from foreign cyber attacks, something he addressed at a breakfast event hosted by the Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce in October.
