Brighton Youth Football Prepares for Championship Game Against Hartland

The championship game will be played at Hartland's Little Big House on Nov. 2 starting at 7 p.m.

The second annual Livingston County Area Junior Football League (LCAJFL) championship game between Hartland Varsity White and Brighton Varsity Gold will take place in Hartland this Saturday.

The final game of the two teams comprised of local seventh and eighth graders will be played for the championship title which is awarded to the single team winning all games in the playoff tournament.

The communities of Hartland and Brighton are invited to attend the game where HAYAA organizers have planned several fun, family activities during the game.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to make a food donation benefiting Gleaners Community Food Bank. People donating will receive a free pom-pom, while supplies last, in their team color to show team spirit during the game.

There will also be chances for fans to compete in fun challenges between quarters and during half-time to earn prizes provided by local Hartland and Brighton businesses.

Game time is 7 p.m. with the gates of Hartland’s Little Big House, located at 9525 East Highland Road, opening at 5:30 p.m. There is a $4 entry fee, $2 for players and cheerleaders in 2013 jersey or cheer uniform and ages 5 and under are free.

Local firefighter and 2011 Hartland High School graduate, Walter Johnston will kick off the event with a performance of The Star-Spangled Banner.

The championship game is an annual event coordinated by the Livingston County Area Junior Football League, and is hosted by a different community each year.  Last year’s event was hosted in Howell, with Hartland’s Varsity Blue team emerging as the 2012 league champions.
