Women Outdoors Kensington Adventure

Looking for something different to do outdoors?  Women can discover the joys of kayaking and archery at the 12th Annual Women Outdoors:  Kensington Adventure! from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 25  at Kensington Metropark Farm Center near Milford/Brighton.

This one-day workshop will teach women basic paddle strokes and safety, as well as paddle a kayak; plus they will learn how to use a bow and arrow safely, and have some target practice.

The Adventure is hosted by REI, Heavner Canoe Rental, Safari Club International and Huron-Clinton Metroparks.

“Kayaking is a great way to explore rivers and lakes not only here at Kensington, but across the state as well,” said Debbie Cavallaro, supervising interpreter at Kensington Farm Center.  “Once you get started, your paddle will be your gateway to outdoor adventures. Archery takes concentration, and it’s amazing how many women have enjoyed this sport once they tried it.”

Women, 18 or older, are eligible to attend this workshop.  The $60 fee includes instruction in all sessions, program materials, use of demonstration equipment and lunch. Registration deadline is June 18.
