Your Guide to a Taste of Brighton

A Taste of Brighton will take place July 12 and 13 with restaurant tastes and outdoor shopping available from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.

The event

Brighton's annual summer sidewalk sales, also known as Summerfest, with a twist, will include outdoor shopping, restaurant tastes, live music and an array of entertainment.

The Taste of Brighton takes place in downtown Brighton on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The weather

It looks like there will be some great weather with sunny skies and a high near 79 on Friday, according to the National Weather Service, and sunny, with a high near 82 for Saturday.

Concert schedule

A total of 12 different acts will be providing entertainment with four stages of live music set up from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. both evenings. 

July 12 entertainment schedule:
  • 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Julie Haven & Mike Vial
  • 6 p.m. to 9 p.m..: Sen Sa Shuns & The Mike Leslie Band
  • 7 p.m. to 10 p.m..: Kathleen Murray Band & Some Kinda Jones
July 13 entertainment schedule:
  • 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Darwin Mamassian & Ted Reed
  • 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Black Drops & The Chris Brantley Trio
  • 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.: The Steven Mullan Trio & Lucky Brown Band

Balloon Man

Look for the Brighton balloon sculptor, Tim Thurmond, who will attempt to re-claim his Guinness World Record for the most balloons ever blown up by mouth and made into animals in a 24-hour period. Thurmond will be set up by Oh My Lolli! from 5 p.m. July 12 to 5 p.m. July 13.    

For the kids

There will even be a Kids Zone with all sorts of fun set up for toddlers and children of all ages that include large inflatables, arts and crafts, book readings and a rock wall.
