Photo Gallery: Polar Plungers Dive In for a Good Cause

The 2012 Polar Plunge was held at Brighton High School on Sunday.

More than 100 people gathered to watch 99 people brave the cold, frigid waters in the lake behind on Sunday.

Together, those 99 people helped raise more than $24,000 for the Special Olympics of Michigan. The money will go to help fund jerseys, training, travel and more for special needs athletes.

There are more than 475 special needs athletes living in Livingston County who benefit from the Special Olympics of Michigan.
