Play Date at the Millpond and More This Weekend

Patch is here to make your life ridiculously easy, so as you sit down today and plan your weekend, here are some events you should know about in the Brighton area.

1. Play Date at the Millpond

  • When: Saturday, June 22 at 10 a.m.
  • Where: Mill Pond in downtown Brighton
  • What: Be a part of the largest playdate in downtown Brighton! SELCRA and the DDA have partnered to bring you hours of fun playing in pudding, making bubbles, arts & crafts, stories and a magic show at the gazebo! Come play with us behind Oh My Lolli.

2. Great American Backyard Campout

  • When: Saturday, June 22 at 9 a.m.
  • Where: Island Lake State Recretaion Area
  • What: For the first in many decades, the Island Lake State Recreation Area will be allowing the public to camp out at the park, as part of the Great American Backyard Campout promoted by the National Wildlife Federation.

3. Green Oak Farmers and Community Market

  • When: Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Where: Located conveniently right off of US-23, exit  58 (Lee Rd.) one mile south of I-96 in the Green Oak Village Place Mall 
  • What: Farmers Market featuring local meats, eggs, honey, flower and vegetable plants, fresh fruits and vegetables in season, various arts and crafts and assorted baked goods. 

4. Michigan Philharmonic Concert

  • When: Saturday, June 21 at 8 p.m.
  • Where: Kensington Metropark
  • What: Listen to beautiful music against the backdrop of scenic Kent Lake when the Michigan Philharmonic returns for its third annual visit to perform “An American Salute,” a free, family-friendly concert on Maple Beach.
