Accomplishment: Morgan Myers, 12, skis on Team XLR8 at Mt. Brighton and finished first in Region 3, which covers the state of Michigan. This week, she's competing at the Junior Olympic Festival in Steamboat, CO. Next week, she'll be among 28 XLR8 racers at the NASTAR Nationals in Winter Park, CO. Morgan said she started skiing when she was just 3 years old, at her family condo in Park City, UT. She hasn't stopped since.

Key to awesomeness: "I couldn't have done any of this without my coaches," she said. "It's a lot of hard work and dedication to the sport. I train two hours every day of the week except on the weekends, when I race.

"When I ski I feel like I'm flying above the clouds, and I just love it. It's who I am," she continued.

"Whenever I'm active I tend to concentrate more on tests, so it helps me academically. It brings my confidence up because I know I can do this."
